this photo of the krays brothers will have been used in a news story because it has an intense look to it which would have fitted the story's about the Krays brothers at the time as they where brutal gangsters so this photo was a zeitgeist.

This photographer has used the rule of thirds by putting the most important aspects of the photo on the four lines. On the top line you have both of the kray brothers eyes. On the bottom photo you have both of the krays brothers shoulders on this line. Each brother is given one of the other line each using the rule of third technique has given this photo balance which is ironic because the krays brothers are believed to have been way out of balance when has come to the crimes they committed.the use of the plain background in this composition ensures that nothing distracts from the subject this allows the full focus on the kray brothers.

this photograph was used in a fashion magazine Vanity Fair as anchorage to a article about Leo this photo was used because it captures lots of different aspects of Leonardo which is what the article was trying to uncover

the photographer uses the rule pf third in this picture by putting  Leo on the the right vertical line and on the intersects of the top line. The photographer also puts the swan on the bottom line where intersects using this technique adds balance to the photo it also draws are eyes to what the photographer views as the most important aspects of the photo.

the photographer uses low key lighting this illuminates leo to create a strong contrasting shadow almost to show that he has a dark side but the light also gives his face a light angelic pure feeling.the photographer uses the swan to show that leo is pure but also a leading line to lead to his face.

this photo was taken before the time of professional photography so this photo would have been used just for a art gallery. he uses a line of third by putting the  man on the intersect of the right and bottom line this draws you to the man who is the main point of the photo
the mans leg works as a following line it goes from the man to his reflection which gives the effect there is two and during this time in history the poor where getting  poorer and the rich are getting richer  this photo tried to show that the rich thought the poor where expendable and this is shown by the photographer making every man looking the same.
